Industrial Agriculture is the Major Cause of Climate Forcing

1% For The Planet–a global network of businesses, nonprofits and individuals working together for a healthy planet–recently collaborated with The Carbon Underground to create a hypothetical quiz about the primary cause of climate change:

“If we asked 1,000 members of 1% for the Planet to name the cause of climate change, and you responded the way most people do, about 950 of you would say it’s the burning of fossil fuels.

And you’d be wrong.

If we asked the same group whether reducing emissions was the best strategy to solve climate change we’d likely get a similar number saying yes.

And you’d be wrong again.

The real cause, we’re now learning, is industrial agriculture.”
