Tending to a Wounded Earth

'Philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is to change it'

Karl Marx, "Eleventh Thesis on Feuerbach,"1845 (published for the first time posthumously in 1888)

Mother Earth is multiply wounded from being trodden without any respect by a growing human population that is increasingly lured into the consumerist and materialistic western model. Mother Earth is so wounded that she threatens to kill us all with climate change.

Non-profitmaking Eco Pax Mundi Agora is a project, with worldwide ambition and intergenerational projection, that listens to Mother Earth's multiple cries. In affectionate response, Eco Pax Mundi Agora seeks to undo our unjustified and unethical path by regenerating her, and teaching us to love and nurture all her wonders again.

You can respectively learn about the dystopia (the world today) and the attendant ecotopia that Eco Pax Mundi Agora intends to address and realise by visiting the different pages in this section.

Some will brand Eco Pax Mundi Agora as an unfeasable pipe dream. To these suffices to say, in the form of some eye-opening food for thought, that the unrealistic pipe dream is assuming that we can go on abusing Mother Earth. The human species depends upon her bountiful womb. Moreover, it is utterly unfair that those with the tiniest carbon footprints (the dispossessed and fellow species) suffer the largest brunt of ecological degradation. With climate change, furthermore, Mother Earth can wipe us all off her womb.

For the sake of our self-esteem in our condition of Earthlings, we must strive to heal the wounds we have perpetrated upon her. Added to this, our children and grandchildren need some seeds (as many as all the pipe dreamers of today manage to sow) upon which to grow a flourishing ecological civilisation of tomorrow. Eco Pax Mundi Agora is steadfastly planting one such seed.
